Nursing Program At SC4 Received Accreditation

September 24, 2012
By

St. Clair County Community College’s associate degree nursing program has been accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.  The program was reviewed against National League for Nursing standards and deemed to meet or exceed them. The standards used for accreditation are Mission and Administrative Capacity; Faculty and Staff; Students; Curriculum; Resources; and Outcomes.  SC4’s program joins about 700 other associate degree nursing programs accredited by the commission.  A comprehensive self-study was submitted by faculty and staff in December 2011, and a three-day site visit conducted in February 2012.  Initial accreditation was approved by the commission’s accrediting board in July. Initial accreditation is granted for five years and will be reviewed in 2017. For more information about SC4’s nursing programs, visit www.sc4.edu/nursing.
