St. Clair County Community College will host RAINN Day, a sexual assault awareness, prevention and survival program, Thursday, Sept. 27. The event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the college’s Port Huron campus. RAINN Day is the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network’s annual campaign to stop sexual assault on college campuses. SC4 is one of hundreds of college and university campuses nationwide participating in RAINN Day.
Presentations and presenters will include:
- Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention — Detective Kelsey Wade, St. Clair County Sheriff Department
- Sexual Assault from Victim to Survivor — Jennifer Rader
- Prosecuting Offenders and Victims Rights — Mike Wendling, St. Clair County prosecutor
- Sexual Assault Victims Support Services
The event is sponsored by SC4’s Social Science Department, SC4’s Gay-Straight Alliance, Blue Water Safe Horizons, St. Clair County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council, St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office and St. Clair County Sheriff Department.
