One Life Loss In Crash

A two vehicle crash at the corner of Gratiot and Range Roads has claimed the life of a 66 year old Port Huron woman. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Janice Messmer was northbound on Range Road about 4:30 Friday afternoon.  She failed to stop at the red light and drove into the path of a vehicle driven by 51 year old Cynthia Krzyiak of St. Clair.  Messmer was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Mercy Hospital in Port Huron.  She was later transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where she died of injuries sustained in the crash.  Krzyiak was checked at the scene and sought her own treatment for injuries. Marysville Police, Michigan State Police and Marysville Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene of the crash.  Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
