Night of Poetry to Studio 1219 on Oct. 19

As part of its month-long celebration of the Art of the Woman, Studio 1219 will present An Evening of Poetry and Power Friday  from, 7-9 pm, at Studio 1219, 1219 Military St., Port Huron.  Organizers say the evening celebration will offer original poetry, wine and snacks in the informal Studio setting that will welcome patrons from across Southeast Michigan. A $5 donation per person to benefit the Studio and its Breast Cancer Fund is requested.  This year’s event will include presentations by such notables as Alinda Wasner, who won second place in Ireland’s 2012 International Poetry Prize competition, and poets Ben Bartman, David Blaine, Kerry Cox, Lesley L. Lambright and LeeAnne McInnis.
