The Ballot Proposals

October 25, 2012
By

If you depend on business for your paycheck, here’s the Detroit Chamber’s take on the ballot proposals.

The Detroit Regional Chamber is committed to distributing the facts surrounding the new bridge connecting Windsor and Detroit and the positive effects the New International Trade Crossing’s (NITC) construction would have on the region and state.

Here are the facts:

Fact: One in eight Southeast Michigan jobs depend on trade with more than 237,000 Michigan jobs depending on Michigan-Canada trade.

Fact: Canada is Michigan’s largest trading partner with more than $70.2 billion in trade in 2011.

Fact: Michigan taxpayers have NO monetary obligation toward the creation of the NITC.

Remember, a vote for business means YES on Proposal 1, and vote NO on the rest of the Michigan ballot proposals.
