David Buck, St. Clair County Community College’s chief information officer with technology partner Ellucian, will participate in a roundtable discussion on educational technology at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference from Nov. 6 to 9 in Denver. EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology.  Information technology professionals from colleges and universities and corporations serving higher education from across the nation will attend the conference. Buck was invited by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He will join participants from 40 colleges that are members of national nonprofit organization Achieving the Dream. Achieving the Dream helps community colleges identify strategies to improve student success, close achievement gaps and increase retention, persistence and completion rates. SC4 joined Achieving the Dream in 2010.  Buck will contribute to “Spotlight on Student Success,” which will include a quick-fire series of presentations and Q&A sessions on educational technology designed to address Learner Relationship Management. This evolving technology includes education planning, counseling, risk and intervention, and transfer and articulation. Comments during the session will help shape future product development
