Upset In East China Township Board Of Education

November 7, 2012
By

Mike McCartan

While most of the races in yesterday’s election went pretty much as predicted, there was one district that saw a surprise.  With three seats up for grabs on the East China Board of Education – six candidates in the running – three of which were incumbents, there was quite an upset as Michael McCartan, president of the board received the fourth highest number of votes, and lost his seat.  James Biewer, who has been serving as Vice President received the highest number of votes, Jeanne Frank coming in with second highest, and current Secretary Roy Klecha with the third highest.   McCartan had served on the Board for the past 24 years.
