A gunshot in the early hours Wednesday in the area of the 2100 block of Cyprus Street in Port Huron brought the Port Huron Police Department to the scene. The first incident occurred shortly after 3:40 a.m. in the parking lot of a small factory. Witnesses say they observed a man shoot out the window of an unoccupied car with what was possibly a shotgun or similar weapon. Damage was also found that was unrelated to the firearm, to three vehicles in the parking lot. The suspect is believed to be between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet, and weighs about 250 pounds. The suspect is believed to have been driving a dark colored Sedan. A second firearm discharge was reported to have occurred sometime between 2  and 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of 14th Street.  Reports say  an unknown person discharged what is believed to have been a long gun into a residence from outside. There was damage within the home, but no injuries. Both cases are currently under investigation. A connection between the two cases has not been ruled out.
