November 14, 2012
By

Chief Craig Miller

“We are proud of our new rating. It shows that our department is improving to meet the needs of a growing community!” (Chief Craig Miller) Previously Port Huron Township was a class 6/9 which was reviewed back in 1994. The new classification also means that insurance agents who reference ISO may reduce premiums for their customers. The township recommends calling your agent and find out.   With this improvement, Port Huron Township joins 344 communities in the state of Michigan with a Class 5 rating. Previously Port Huron Township was a class 6/9 which was reviewed back in 1994. On a 1 to 10 scale, communities with a lower number have a better fire protection rating. Of the more than one thousand fire departments in Michigan, only 115 hold a higher rating than a 5.
