Representatives from a Chinese engineering firm toured St. Clair County Community College’s Port Huron campus Monday, Nov. 19, to study how SC4 has incorporated environmental sustainability into numerous construction projects.  The representatives were from China IPPR International Engineering Corp., a Beijing-based company. The delegation was organized by architectural firm SHW Group, based in Berkley. SC4 and SHW Group have collaborated on several campus projects.  The delegation is touring several SHW environmental sustainability project sites across the country, including stops in Texas, Michigan and New York City. Tour locations include the Mount Pleasant campus of Central Michigan University and the Hearst Tower in New York City. The tours started Thursday, Nov. 15, and will conclude Thursday, Nov. 22.  The SC4 tour was led by Eric Heinemann, SC4 mechatronics/alternative energy instructor. The tour included information about SC4’s geothermal heating and cooling system, rain gardens and bioswales, solar and wind alternative energy production, electric car and Living Labs.  See more photos of the tour on SC4’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/followSC4.
