Art For Good is having a pre-grand opening “Black Friday” special at its retail outlet, 331 Huron Ave., downtown Port Huron. Art For Good features fun retail with a conscience, including fair-trade wearables and edibles, slave-free chocolate, coffee and tea, world artists, arts-related products (like theatrical makeup, tools, and art supplies) and Michigan artists and products. A recent sneak-preview of Art For Good during the Blue Water Young Professionals’ “Art Hop” generated a lot of excitement in downtown. For “Black Friday,” Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24, patrons who fill a stocking with stocking stuffers will get a free gift. “We have some great stocking stuffer ideas,” said Lee-Perry Belleau, of AFG, “including gluten-free treats, chocolate coins, gifts, and Michigan made products like organic preserves, nut butters, honey and more — and the free gifts are fun!”The store continues to get in new products weekly. Featured this month are beautiful fairtrade ornaments of copper, brass and tin made by a co-op of artisans in small villages in Thailand, Michigan-made BaaBaaZuZu wearables, and organic Naked Bee products.
