Fire Takes Life Of Woman

An early morning fire in Jeddo Monday took the life of an elderly woman.  Reports from the Grant Township Fire Department say rescue crews responded to a structure fire at a single story home on Cline Road about 1:15 a.m. Monday.  Flames and smoke are reported to have been visible about a mile and a half away.  Crews were able to subdue the fire by about 2:00 a.m.  However, the woman had succumbed to the blaze prior to crews arrival.  Fire units from Burtchville Township, Kenockee Township, and Fort Gratiot also reported to the scene, along with Tri-Hospital EMS.  Investigation into the blaze continues.
