Accident Closes 10th Street Bridge Sunday Evening

The Tenth Street bridge in Port Huron was shut down last evening for a time following an accident that saw one woman transported to Port Huron Hospital for injuries.  Port Huron Police report the accident occurred about 6:50 p.m. when a woman driving a Jeep northbound on the bridge and man from Port Huron was driving southbound across the bridge.  Police believe one of the drivers crossed the center line, causing the Jeep to swerve and flip in the middle of the bridge. Port Huron Police , Port Huron Fire, and Tri-Hospital EMS responded to the scene.  The accident continues to be under investigation.
