Tomorrow, the Salvation Army is partnering with Walmart at 4845 24th Ave. in Fort Gratiot to host a “Fill the Truck” Toy Drive an Initiative to Help Local Children. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.; at the Fort Gratiot Walmart; on 24th Ave. Major Mark Turner, of the Salvation Army, says the “Fill the Truck” toy drive is open to the general public who would like to donate new toys and coats to children who take part in Salvation Army programs year-round. As they enter the store, Walmart shoppers will receive a list of suggested gifts to help fill The Salvation Army’s Collection Bin in the Store, and the bus located in the Walmart Parking lot. Once the bus is full, The Salvation Army will bring the donations to the warehouse and distribute the gifts to local children in need, on December 20, 2012. The Christmas Toy program is expected to provide gifts to more than 2500 children.
