Returning students and people interested in starting their own business are invited to take a new entrepreneurship class offered by St. Clair County Community College this winter. Introduction to Entrepreneurship (ENT 195) will run from 6 to 8:50 p.m. Thursday, from Jan. 17 to May 9. The hands-on, comprehensive class will teach students how to take a business idea from early stages to implementation. Students will learn how to generate and evaluate business ideas; how to write a business plan; and how to finance, market, organize and manage a start-up. Students also will be connected with resources available for starting a business. Local professionals will visit the class as guest speakers to share their expertise. Attorneys will discuss forming corporations and LLCs; bankers will discuss financing; and advertising/public relations professionals will cover small business marketing.
In-district tuition and fees for the class are $372.50.
There are no prerequisites. The class also can be used as an elective for any SC4 business program.
