Gas Prices Heading Down

December 21, 2012
By

Could it be that gas prices are of the decline?  That is the trend we are seeing in the Port Huron area.  This week prices as low as $2.98 a gallon have been recorded.  A check with AAA Michigan tells WGRT that we can expect those prices to remain around the $3.00 a gallon mark or even go down a bit.  It is expected that roadways will be busier than usual with holiday travelers – even with the storms raging around our area.  Reports show that December 23rd is the heaviest travel day of the year.  Tom Burse, Chief meteorologist at WGRT says while the gas prices are lowering, making it cheaper to travel, you should keep an eye on the weather forecast for your travel routes. While St. Clair County is expected to see mostly rain, predictions of rain, snow and heavy winds with dropping temperatures are in store for the holiday weekend.  Authorities remind travelers to be prepared by listening to weather reports and keeping your vehicle equipped with emergency supplies.
