If you are planning to cross the Blue Water Bridge sometime on this Saturday, you might want to avoid the noon hour…the Blue Water Bridge is expected to be closed to motorists between noon and 1 p.m. Saturday due to a protest by the  Aamjiwnaang First Nations movement, entitled, Idle No More.  The group has stated that  it will block international border crossings in protest of the Canadian federal government’s neglect of the groups.  A blockade began on December 21at the CN railroad in Sarnia to deliver a message about the injustices the group feels  are taking place against the native people.  Officials at the bridge have said in a statement that local agencies are been apprised, and they feel public safety will be ensured during the possible bridge closure.  The Blue Water ridge is the third busiest border crossing on the Canada/U.S. border and the second busiest for truck traffic.
