St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of SC4 instructor Sarah Slobodzian from Jan. 15 to Feb. 23. The show will feature mixed media pieces with an emphasis on drawings. A show opening is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. Slobodzian also will be featured as an “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch her work and talk about art. Slobodzian earned her bachelor of fine arts from Utah State University in 2001 and her master of fine arts with an emphasis in painting from Michigan State University in 2004. She has been teaching at SC4 since 2011. Each month, the work of a different artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery. Studio 1219 hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Studio 1219 is at 1219 Military St. For details, visit www.sc4.edu/spiral.
