First Meeting Of 2013 For Port Huron City Council

January 15, 2013
By

At last night’s Port Huron City Council meeting, council approved vacating sections of Third and Pine Streets to allow Acheson Ventures’ to build a new heated boat storage facility. The $30 million project is expected to be finished up by Spring of 2014.  A resolution to dissolve the fire collaboration between Port Huron and the city of Marysville passed, as did the first reading of an ordinance to create Port Huron’s Department of Public Safety.  Port Huron Police Chief Michael Reaves will move from that title, into plain clothes as head of the Department of Public Safety, beginning today.  An update was given by realtor Gerry Kramer on the status of the efforts to see the former YMCA property.  Kramer says, that while no offers have been made, there are three interested buyers looking at the property, and he feels an offer could be made soon.
