The USCG Cutter BRAMBLE has been sold to a Marine City couple. Robert and Sara Klingler say they have wonderful plan to keep the ship “alive” within our community. The Bramble will continue to be docked at its current location at the Bean Dock. The Klinglers will work alongside the museum with tours and information, overnight stays and educational opportunities. Future plans include underwater cameras and passports that would allow visitors to view other ships. Robert and Sara Klingler have owned other ships in the past,” but nothing comparable to the historical value of the Bramble”, Mr. Klingler stated. Susan Bennett, from the Port Huron Museum says they could not be more pleased, it is a big win for the community to sell the vessel, yet keep it local for at least the next three years.
