State Representative Dan Lauwers

State Rep. Dan Lauwers is sponsoring a property tax workshop on Feb. 28 in Marysville for local residents who need assistance with appealing their property tax assessment.  Lauwers, of Brockway Township, will host the “How to Appeal your Property Tax Assessment Workshop,” on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the St. Clair County RESA in the Technical Education Building, Room 120, 499 Range Road, Marysville.  “Homeowners have an absolute right to appeal their tax assessment if they believe it is inaccurate, and we’ll take you through the step-by-step process to help ensure the best possible outcome,” Lauwers said. “This free workshop will provide people with important insight on the process and help taxpayers build a case for an effective appeal.”   Joining Lauwers at the meeting is state Rep. Tom McMillin, a certified public accountant.  No reservations are necessary. For more information, contact Lauwers’ office at (517) 373-1790; mail correspondence to S-1185 House Office Building, P.O. Box 30014, Lansing, MI 48909-7514; or e-mail him at danlauwers@house.mi.gov.
