Yesterday marked the final program in the 2012-2013 Season. The program featured Ronnie Milsap, at McMorran Theatre. Born blind and in poverty, Ronnie Milsap was raised in North Carolina by his grandmother. There, he discovered the foundation for his music in the Appalachian hills. At the age of six, he was sent to a school for the blind where he studied classical music. In 1973, he began producing with RCA Records. One of the best-loved artists in country music history, Milsap has had 40 #1 hits, over 25 million records sold, seven Grammy Awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards, and eight Country Music Association Awards.
