Three men were lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention Center, following a home invasion. According to Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the incident began with a call for a breaking and entering alarm in the 6000 block of Springborn Road shortly before 10:30 Wednesday. Deputies arrived and discovered that home had been broken into. While investigating, a neighbor came up and told deputies there was a silver Pontiac G-6 that left shortly before their arrival. Shortly after 11:30, a citizen called about a suspicious vehicle matching that description on Dolan Road. Dispatchers broadcast that information. The vehicle was located by Deputies a short time after that on Gratiot near Rattle Run. The vehicle took off westbound on Gratiot. A short chase ended with the suspect vehicle losing control and spinning into the ditch in the 7700 block of Gratiot. The three suspects jumped out of the car and ran eastbound. Two of the three were caught a short time later without incident. The Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called to assist finding the third suspect. It was discovered that suspect had broken into a house in the 7600 block of Gratiot to hide. He was located in that residence by the K-9 and taken into custody. Further investigation discovered items believed to belong to the residents of the home broken into on Springborn Road.
