A Friday morning police chase ended in a crash and an arrest in Lexington Township. Reports say an officer from Sanilac County Sheriff Department attempted to make a traffic stop on Babcock Road near Roach at about 2:40 a.m. Friday, for what was believed to be a traffic violation and operating while intoxicated investigation, according to a news release. Police say the suspect fled eastbound on Roach Road, southbound on M-25 and westbound on Harrington Road after the patrol car activated its emergency lights. The suspect lost control while traveling west on Harrington Road. The vehicle, went into a north ditch and overturned on its left side. The 27-year-old Croswell man driving the vehicle was not injured and refused treatment at the scene. Reports say the suspect is expected to be charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, operating while intoxicated second offense, violation of restricted operator’s license, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, and violating the terms of his probation from a previous alcohol/driving-related incident.
