The woman found next to a dumpster at the Goodwill store in Port Huron Township has been positively identified. According to St. Clair County Sheriff, the woman is 89 year old Mary Gertrude Grenia of Salem, Oregon. The woman was found on March 12th by a Goodwill employee who was cleaning the area around the dumpster. According to the St. Clair County Medical Examiner’s Office, the identification was made through x-ray comparison. That information, coupled with a tip from a citizen, led to a request for medical information from Salem. The deceased woman’s daughter, 49 year old Kelly Rhodes of Salem, is currently in custody in the St. Clair County, Illinois jail. She was arrested on a warrant from St. Clair County, Michigan for disposing of a body improperly, a one year misdemeanor. She is expected to be transported back to St. Clair County, Michigan next week. Further charges may be sought against Rhodes, who was located and arrested at the home of relatives in Belleville, Illinois. The investigation continues.
