If you live in the city of Port Huron and have large brush to be picked up as you do the spring clean up of your yard, it will cost you this year. A large brush pickup will cost residents $40 and will only be available for four weeks in the spring and four weeks this fall. Large brush considered as anything longer than four feet or larger than two inches in diameter. Building materials will not be part of the collection – regular yard waste, which includes brush that is bundled and includes pieces shorter than four feet long and smaller than two inches in diameter, will continue as normal. To schedule a pickup, residents can call the large brush line at 987-6000. Pickups need to be prepaid with cash or checks at the Human Resources office at the Municipal Office Center or credit card by phone. Port Huron residents can also drop off their large brush at the Forestry department, 3663 10th Ave., between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. the 4th Saturday of each month for free.
