Adjustments were approved for the St. Clair County Sheriff Department budget by St. Clair County commissioners at last night’s meeting. Adjustments included over, an additional $1.1 million in spending. Sheriff Tim Donnellon requested that 10 part-time corrections officer positions move to six full-time positions. The finance department report showed that this move is expected to save just under $350,000 in overtime costs in the next months, with an increase in base wages and benefits amounting to just over $45,000. Added expenses also included an additional 10 part-time transport officers. A number of other adjustments were made as well. Along with the added expenses, the jail is bringing in less money than projected. The adjustments were approved with a 5-0 vote. Vice chairman Steve Simasko and commissioner David Rushing were absent.
