St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of students from April 16 to May 31. The show – “Functional?” – will feature clay pieces by advanced ceramic students of SC4 adjunct instructor Celeste Skalnek. The students are Jocelyn Graziadei and Andrea Murphy, both of Port Huron. Graziadei is a sophomore transferring to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit in the fall to study ceramics. Murphy is a sophomore transferring to the University of Michigan-Flint’s psychology program through SC4’s University Center to pursue a career in art therapy. A show opening is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19. Skalnek’s students also will be featured as “SC4 Artists in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 26. The “SC4 Artists in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch the artists’ work and talk about art. Each month, the work of a different artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery. Studio 1219 hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
