The event drew more than 1,500 people, with students competing in more than 50 events. TEC students who placed in the competition: Gold medal: Brittany Emig, Marysville, Nursing Assistant Finalist (Top 8): Jesse Bogen, home-schooled, Dental Science; Nicole Knoth, St. Clair, Pharmacology; Brenton Marcinkoske, Algonac, Nursing assistant; Hillary Tesluck, Port Huron High, Medical Spelling. TEC’s Creating Problem Solving team also was a finalist. Team members were Joella Killion, Port Huron Northern; Kelly Melton, Blue Water Middle College; Tait Sapienza, Marine City; and Brittany Stanek, Marysville. Also, Krista Warwick a senior received a $500 scholarship from HOSA. She competed in Nursing Assistant the past two years. Also at the competition were Kristen Deckard of Memphis, Jessica Medinger of Marysville, Autumn Boucher of St. Clair, Mackenzie Baranski of Marine City and Nick Waters of Algonac.
