Earth Fair will be held at Goodells County Park on Friday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Earth Fair is St. Clair County’s largest Earth Day celebration. Earth Fair is a blend of companies, artisans, demonstrations, displays and entertainment acts as well as specialty attractions, food and live furry friends that’s fun for the whole family. Come discover healthy, good-for-you organics in food, energy, transportation, clothing, home, garden and more. Highlights will include:
Free Shuttle - Two Blue Water Area Transit busses will be running from the Vantage Point Maritime Center and Vinicker’s Market in Wadhams to Goodells County Park from 10am – 4pm on Saturday. Shuttle riders receive an exclusive Earth Fair button which doubles as a bus ticket and a coupon for receiving discounts while at Earth Fair. Shuttle rides are free. Saturday only.
Workshops – Held in the Visitor’s Center, workshops are 20-minutes, general seating, and open to all ages.Topics range from sheep shearing, soap making, polishing a Petoskey stone, identifying animal tracks, controlling Phragmites. Workshops are free. Friday and Saturday.
Tree Sale - The Sanilac Conservation District will be selling a variety of flowering trees, conifers and shrubs. Friday and Saturday.
Sheepshank Sam- Meet Sheepshank Sam, an old time shanty boy lumberjack who, using historical information sprinkled with tall tales, will transport you back in time to a 1800’s lumberjack camp in Michigan’s northern wilderness. Participants will learn how trees were felled, cut into logs, skidded out of the woods, and floated down the river to the sawmill. Try your hand at using lumberjack tools! Friday and Saturday.
