The Michigan Association of Ambulance Service held its annual Stars of Life Celebration on May 7, 2013 which held a new honor for four EMS personnel from Tri-Hospital EMS. Michael Alexander, Jeffery Crabtree, Kevin Willis and Larry Shackett were honored for their years of service in EMS and at Tri-Hospital EMS; as well as for their dedication to the profession of Emergency Medical Services. Combined, these individuals have one hundred and thirteen (113) years experience that they bring to Tri-Hospital EMS daily. Mike, Jeff, Kevin and Larry headed to Lansing last week for the Ambulance Awareness Day / Star of Life Presentation. The celebration recognizes members of EMS for their outstanding efforts and dedication to the community. The ‘stars’ can also meet with the legislature and share the awards story. The Star of Life Celebration leads into the honoring of all EMS Personnel during National EMS Week (May 19-25). EMS Responders represent hope to people in their most critical time of need. Their calling comes through in their spirit of dedication, professionalism and commitment -24 hours a day – to the communities in which they serve.
