Be a Tourist in Your Own Town of Port Huron this Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers say this is a chance for the Blue Water Area and visitors to discover and rediscover the attractions and history that make Port Huron the Maritime Capital of the Great Lakes. A family day filled with lots to do and see, area residents are encouraged to “Bring a Tourist” so they can learn about the area’s offerings and come back with their friends and family. The event will feature many signature attractions of Port Huron. Drive or board the free trolleys and buses that will run continuously between points of interest, get on and off as you wish. Many of the attractions are free…however, the Huron Lady II will have 6 special one hour cruises at 10:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for a discounted rate of $5.00 / person. Tickets can be purchased at the Huron Lady Dock the day of while supplies last, docked on Water Street next to Desmond Marine. The museums have free entry although there is a charge to climb the lighthouse tower.
