The 25th annual SC4 Alumni Association Golf Classic on Friday, June 14, broke records for money raised and number of teams participating. Thirty-four teams completed the 18-hole scramble, which raised $25,458.48. The proceeds will benefit the alumni association. The money will be used for programs, including scholarships. Alumni association board members Rob Carson and Tom Coleman, both of Fort Gratiot, co-chaired the outing. The winning men’s foursome was Joseph Blashill of Grant Township, Jerry Grace of Fort Gratiot, Marty Grace of Kimball Township and Scott Harris of Port Huron. The winning women’s foursome was Carrie Bearss of Ruby, Celina Grondin of Burtchville Township, Karen Lord of Burtchville Township and Sharon Spradling of Marysville. Dave Baer of Fort Gratiot and Rebekah Smith of St. Clair won the closest-to-the-pin contest. Ken Lord of Burtchville Township and Mary Hawtin of Fort Gratiot won the longest-drive contest.
