An 87 year old Port Huron man was injured in a crash with a Fort Gratiot Fire Department rescue truck Wednesday at about 5:40 p.m. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the man was driving his 2003 Mercury Sable southbound on State Road about 5:40. Witness statements said the man failed to yield at the intersection of State and Keewahdin and was struck by the truck, which was heading eastbound on Keewahdin. The firefighters were not injured and began treatment of the man, who was later transported to Port Huron Hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS with undisclosed injuries. The accident remains under investigation. It does not appear speed or alcohol was involved in the crash.
