An 82 year old woman from Grosse Pointe Woods was killed in a three car crash in Ira Township Sunday afternoon. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Angela Bournias was a passenger in a 2008 Cadillac, driven by 79 year old George Bournias. The vehicle was headed northwest on M-29 near Perch at about 5:40 p.m., when Bournias made a left hand turn into the path of a Jeep driven by a 23 year old from Clay Township, who was unable to avoid the collision. The third vehicle, driven by a 19 year old from Clay Township, was struck while it was sitting in the driveway of the Bouvier Bay Marina before the other vehicles involved came to rest. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. The Bournias’ were transported to Mt. Clemens McLaren Hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS. The others involved in the crash declined medical treatment. Ira Township Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene of the crash.
