Port Huron City Council met last evening and voted in favor of the current McMorran Authority board members to continue to hold their positions for the next six months, and the board itself to continue for another five years. It was also decided that McMorran will seek a contract with SMG Management of Philadelphia for professional management services in a joint agreement with the Blue Water Area Convention Center. Council also approved the sale of eleven paintings from the McMorran/Murphy collection. The Port Huron Museum had made arrangements for the sale with the Mendel Museum in Saskatchewan to sell the collection for $23,000. Mayor Repp also stated during the meeting that the Amerilodge Group had closed on the former Water Street Marina property and officials are scheduled to meet with city manager Bruce Brown next week to discuss development plans.
