Youth for Christ East Michigan (YFCEM) has announced that its Board of Directors has selected Kevin Collins as Executive Director. Collins, who is currently the Associate Director of YFCEM, begins his new role July 1, 2013. “We are excited for Kevin to take on his new responsibilities”, says Rick Collins, Board Chair. “Our Chapter has seen exceptional growth over the last several years and Kevin has been a big part of that growth. We feel he is the right man to lead and manage us through the coming years”. This new leadership comes into effect at a significant time of growth and opportunity for YFCEM. The Chapter recently changed its name to reflect the increase in geographical territory it covers. They also hold the highest number of Friend to Friend™ Clubs of all Chapters in the nation. “I’ve been involved with Youth for Christ for over 35 years and have seen hundreds of kids reached for Christ”, said Kevin Collins. “I’m honored to serve our Lord and our youth in this role”. “It’s exhilarating to cooperate with what God is doing in our next generation.” Kevin Collins began at Youth for Christ in 1974 as part time staff with Detroit Youth for Christ. He has served in many capacities including volunteer, Director of Military Youth Ministries, and board member. He currently serves as Associate Director of Youth for Christ East Michigan. His previous career in newspapers includes directing the circulation department for the Gannett Company (Times Herald and USA Today) out of Port Huron, MI. Kevin received his Bachelor of Applied Arts from Central Michigan University with a major in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and a minor in Business and Administration. He has lived in St. Clair County for 29 years.
