If your context for earth, wind and fire is a connection to nature rather than the 70′s group who inspired a generation of funk and R&B lovers, you’ll appreciate Studio 1219′s July show Earth, Metal, Stone, Wind, Fire, Elements and Patterns. Running from July 5th through July 31st, the Elements show offers artworks that evoke any and all creative inspirations and interpretations of the theme. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th from 6-8 pm, and, like the gallery show, is free to the public. The show, sponsored by Dr. Jill Brion, offers first, second and third prizes ranging from $100 to $250. The competition was open to all artists in the U.S. and Canada and presents works from artists as far away as Connecticut. Pieces reflect a variety of mediums including mixed media, oils, watercolors, acrylics, fiber arts and more.
