Blue Water Fest-ivities
All day tomorrow hundreds of sailboats will be on display along the Black River in downtown Port Huron. Tomorrow night, it’s party time downtown – with a live concert with the Groove Council beginning at 10 p.m. All the regular activities of The Men and Women of the Military – Blue Water Taste Fest – and the SC4 Art on the Greenway as well as the carnival all continue throughout the day. Boat Night is famous for hosting the start to the Port Huron to Mackinac Sailboat Yacht Race. In the nine decades that the Bayview Mackinac Race has been sailed, much has happened. Wars, economic depressions, and other significant events have transpired, yet the race has gone on. Since 1925, The Mackinac Race is the longest consecutively run freshwater race in the world.
