A 48-year-old Lexington man was transported to Port Huron Hospital after he was found floating face down at 4:05 p.m. Thursday in Lake Huron in about two feet of water. That, according to a statement from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, the man identified as Jeffrey McClelland, was reported to be in critical condition. It is reported that, McClelland, who lives with his parents in Lexington, has a history of medical problems and was believed to have been cooling off on a float in about two feet of water at the foot of Lake Street in Lexington. Swimmers noticed McClelland in the water and pulled him to shore where CPR was performed. Deputies, along with Lexington Fire and Rescue and Croswell ENS, responded. It is not certain as to the exact events which led to McClelland being in the water, and the incident remains under investigation.
