An area man looking for fresh water clams found something he wasn’t looking for last week. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Port Huron resident Frank Kozlowski was wading in Mill Creek in the Beard Hills State Game Area, when he reached up under a log that was in the water and felt something unusual. When he retrieved the item from the water, he discovered it was a human skull. He placed the skull on shore, and then he and his companions immediately went back to their vehicle and called the Sheriff’s Office. A Deputy and Detective from the Sheriff’s Office went to the location of the find to investigate. The Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was also called to the location where the skull was found. During a search by the Dive Team, other bones were located in water that is about 3-4 feet deep. The skull and bones will be turned over to Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz for examination.
