It is reported this morning in the Detroit Free Press that former Gov. Jennifer Granholm is joining the board of directors for Troy-based Talmer Bancorp, the holding company for Talmer Bank and Trust. Granholm is currently serving on the board for Fincantieri/Marinette Marine shipbuilding, and is currently practicing with Law and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Granholm served as Michigan governor for two terms, and hosted “The War Room” which ended this year, as Current TV was sold to the pan-Arab network Al Jazeera. Talmer Bank, has 85 banking centers and 20 loan production offices in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Maryland and has more than $4.7 billion in total assets.
