The suspect in a break-in at the McDonalds restaurant in Fort Gratiot Township was arraigned Thursday in Port Huron’s 72nd District Court. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, 19 year old Sebastian Taylor of Fort Gratiot Township was charged with three counts of breaking and entering with intent and one count each of larceny in a building and malicious destruction of property over $1000 but less than $20,000. Taylor is accused of breaking into the McDonalds on 24th Avenue shortly before 2:00 Tuesday morning. He went in and out of the business three separate times, stole food from the restaurant and damaged computers and cash registers in the restaurant. The restaurant had video surveillance cameras. A picture from that surveillance was sent out to the media and placed on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. A citizen seeing the picture contacted the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau with information that led to Taylor’s arrest. He is currently lodged in the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. Bond was set at $2500 cash/surety by Magistrate Susan Borovich during arraignment proceedings. Taylor’s next court date is a preliminary exam set for September 10th at 1:30 p.m.
