The Sanilac County Sheriff Department is asking for assistance in finding someone suspected of using stolen credit cards. In a news release officers say a purse containing credit cards was stolen from a vehicle in the Brown City or Croswell area on Aug. 20 or Aug. 21. Authorities say the victim was at work in Brown City from 7:30 a.m. until about 5:20 p.m., Aug. 20. Her car was parked at her Croswell-area home until about 8 a.m. the next day when she discovered her purse was missing. Reports from police state that a female attempted to use the credit cards between 3 and 4 p.m. at the Sunrise Marathon store in Yale. The person also pumped $40 in gas and drove off. The suspect vehicle is a light-colored, possibly silver Ford Taurus.
