The Port Huron Police Department Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the St. Clair County Drug Task Force recently conducted a drug crackdown targeting known drug offenders in the City of Port Huron. The crackdown was funded in part by an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant secured by the Port Huron Police Department. During the crackdown which occurred on August 28, 2013, 13 individuals were arrested. Four persons were charged with felonies including Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine and Delivery of Cocaine. An additional 9 misdemeanor arrests were made on various outstanding warrants and new charges of Maintaining and Frequenting a Drug House and Possession of Marijuana. Quantities of Heroin, Crack Cocaine and Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a .380 caliber Ruger were confiscated during the sweep. A Ford pickup and $950 in cash was forfeited. Port Huron Police Road Patrol and K-9 also assisted in the effort.
