Baker College Online officials announced that it has been named a 2014 Military Friendly School® by G.I. Jobs magazine. This the fourth consecutive year that the online college has been included in the G.I. Jobs list of military friendly schools. ”We place a high priority on delivering the best educational experience for America’s veterans and military students,” said Shawn Mann, director of military education programs for Baker College Online. “Baker College offers many benefits to individuals with military experience, including reduced tuition, no-cost textbooks for undergraduate classes, and lifetime career services. These students bring maturity, diversity, leadership and life experiences to the classroom. Other students and faculty benefit from their unique perspectives.” The 2014 Military Friendly Schools list was compiled through extensive research and a survey of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. The top 15 percent were designated “Military Friendly.” Each year, schools are held to higher standards than the previous year. This is due to improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed by the G.I. Jobs Military Friendly Schools Academic Advisory Board consisting of educators from schools across the country.
Categories considered in the survey include an institution’s:
· academic accreditations
· financial and nonfinancial efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students
· success in recruiting and retaining these students
