The culmination of an investigation into a home invasion resulted in the arrest of a suspect Monday night. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, an apartment in the 4000 block of Gratiot Avenue was broken sometime during the night of September 18th. Taken in the home invasion were five handguns, precious metal collectibles and tools. An investigation conducted by Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives led to a home on Iroquois in the Indian Trails North manufactured home park in Burtchville Township. A search warrant was executed at the residence and many of the items stolen were recovered. A 43 year old Burtchville Township man was arrested at the home and lodged in the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday on charges including home invasion first degree, larceny from a building, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property over $20,000.
