St. Clair County Community College hosted a donor reception Thursday, Oct. 24, for the newly expanded Nasr Natural Science Museum. From left are Karl Tomion, SC4 Foundation President; Roderick and Marilyn Walsh, who have lent mammoth bones to SC4’s collection; Dr. Bassam H. Nasr; and SC4 President Dr. Kevin A. Pollock. The museum is named in honor of Dr. Nasr, a local physician, who donated $76,500 to SC4’s “All Aboard: Campaign for Talent, Technology and Tomorrow.” The museum space encompasses 3,100 square feet of exhibits in the Clara E. Mackenzie Building and houses the largest collection of fossil artifacts in the Thumb region. The public is invited to attend a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
