In addition to shopping, lodging and dining, there are also several Canadian based companies providing quality jobs to the region. There are a number of ways individuals and businesses can participate. Participant and business event sponsorship packages are available. Last year’s event raised nearly $19,000 to benefit women in need in our community. “Women who are beneficiaries of these funds are truly in need and always very appreciative of the service offered,” comments Sue Dawson, St. Joseph Mercy Financial Counselor. “For one reason or another, these women are experiencing economic pressures and lack health insurance to continue to obtain breast cancer diagnosis after a positive mammogram. “What this fund offers is some relief,” continues Dawson. “When faced with the uncertainty of cancer, we’re so grateful to offer a small measure of peace of mind on the financial side. This fund is tremendously important, not only for the physical health, but the emotional health of these women in true need.” For more information about the Mercy Pink Ribbon Fund and the St. Joseph Mercy Foundation, visit the St. Joseph Mercy web site: mymercy.us.
