According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, 21 year old Jose Louis Salazar of Detroit was found at 5:40 p.m. Friday by the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team.  Salazar was located in water about 15 feet deep.  He, his fiancé and three children were all swimming around the Mayberry Bridge shortly before 11:30 Friday morning.  Salazar jumped off the bridge and never resurfaced.  His fiancé called 911.  Clay Township Police responded, along with the Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and Dive Team.  They were assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Border Patrol, South water Rescue,  and fire departments from Clay Township, Harsens Island, Algonac and Ira Township.  Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
